Success Stories from Mental Health Implementations

Real-world applications of FACE Your Fears in school settings.

  • “I’ve used scaling at the beginning of every check in related to anxiety. I have found that it really helps me put things into perspective from the child’s eyes. I use the hot seat regularly. I wear funny, huge glasses and say I am the worry brain. The kids love it! They love talking back to the worry brain (and an adult in funny glasses).”

  • “I have several young students struggling with anxiety symptoms. We use scaling and calming tools all the time, and are working through the anxiety by exposure and check ins.”

  • “I have a student who would get so anxious that she had difficulty coming to school and staying in the classroom. I used a lot of the skills learned on this course with her, and now she is doing great. She has no problems coming to school, she knows what she can do to calm herself down, and she is able to stay in the classroom for longer periods of time now. I have another student that had a panic attack in the middle of the hallway as other kids were walking back to class. I was able to help her calm down and get to the office by using a music video she loves to distract her. I remembered this strategy from our class, and it worked!!”
